MIL-DTL-5015 Type Connectors for Rail Vehicles
MIL-DTL-5015 type connectors carry power and control circuits in many rail vehicles, machine tools and industrial systems. They are large enough for contacts up to 150 A, yet the same shell sizes and insert arrangements cover small signal circuits too.

Reverse bayonet couplings lock with a short turn and are secured by springs, so they cannot vibrate loose — important on bogies and underframes.

Insert arrangements carry a service rating that sets the test and working voltage:

Rail-specific requirements
- NF F 61-030: French standard for rail vehicle connectors (HMS31-KY).
- NF F 16-102: fire behaviour of materials on rail vehicles.
- IP67 sealing for underframe equipment.
- Resistance to oils, fuels, acids and alkalis.
