Fiber-Optic & Hybrid Connectors

Connectors that carry optical fiber alongside power and signal — 38999-type fiber and hybrid connectors, and subsea optical-electrical hybrids.

Fiber links carry high-speed data without EMI, but the equipment still needs power and electrical signals. Hybrid connectors put all of them through one shell.

Our 38999 Series III-type fiber-optic connectors mix fiber, power, 50 Ω coax to 18 GHz and 1.65 Gbps differential contacts, with optical insertion loss ≤ 0.6 dB. For underwater use, GDM hybrid connectors combine power contacts with 4 optical channels.

How to choose

Channels

Count fibers, power, coax and data circuits; we propose a 38999 layout.

Optical loss

≤ 0.6 dB for up to 4 fibers, ≤ 0.75 dB above, ≤ 1 dB in hybrids.

Environment

Marine-grade 38999 type, or GDM for underwater.

Options beyond the standard connector

Expanded-beam fiber

J599E8, dirt tolerant, 2000 cycles.

Subsea hybrid

GDM optical-electrical underwater connectors.
