Miniature Circular Connectors
Smaller, lighter circular connectors: 38999 Series III-type miniatures, lightweight micro circular XY2, IP67 push-in XY1 and subminiature J599S and JYS.
When panel space and weight are tight, a full-size 38999 Series III-type connector can be more than the design needs. Our miniature and micro circular connectors cut weight and size while keeping sealed, shielded, vibration-resistant performance.
J599S5 keeps Series III-type insert arrangements and is 30 to 41 % lighter. XY2 is about 30 % lighter and 50 % smaller than Series III with the same layout; XY1 adds push-in coupling and IP67 at about half the weight. For the very smallest spaces, J599S (threaded) and JYS (bayonet) use shell sizes from 2 to 7.

Which series
Keep Series III layouts: J599S5. Lowest weight with threaded coupling: XY2. Fast push-in with IP67: XY1. Smallest shells: J599S or JYS.
Keep your insert arrangement
Choose the same shell size and arrangement you use in Series III; contacts and crimp tools stay the same.
Panel cut-out
Use the 20G receptacle to replace Series III receptacles without changing the panel, or the 20 receptacle for the smallest footprint.
Shell material
Aluminum for lowest weight, stainless steel or titanium for strength; marine (M) versions for salt and acid environments.
Backshells

Frequently asked questions
Why choose a miniature circular connector instead of Series III?
To save weight and panel space without redesigning the circuit. J599S5 keeps Series III-type insert arrangements and contacts but is 30–41 % lighter.
Do miniature connectors mate with Series III connectors?
No. The coupling thread is smaller, so both halves must be of the same miniature series. The contacts and insert arrangements are the same.
