Underwater connectors must keep water out under pressure, survive salt water and still be easy to mate on deck. Our range covers rubber-molded connectors for sensors and subsea power, metal-shell connectors for deep-water equipment, glass-sealed connectors for oil and gas, load-bearing connectors for towed arrays, optical-electrical hybrid connectors and watertight cable assemblies built to your length. The SHX33, SHX34 and SHX35 rubber-molded families are rated to 7000 m operating depth, with 70 MPa pressure ratings both mated and unmated. Specifications on each page state the test condition — depth, mated or unmated pressure — separately.
For equipment that needs a metal shell, SHX4 (10 MPa mated, contacts up to 115 A), SHX13 for sonar and SHX27 for high-voltage power are made in titanium, aluminum bronze or stainless steel. SHX10 adds glass-sealed receptacles that stay gas-tight when unmated, and SM carries 50,000 N through the connector for towed arrays.

Depth and pressure
Check the operating depth and whether the pressure rating you need is mated, unmated (open face) or both.
Mating condition
Wet-mateable connectors can be mated with water on the contact faces, on deck or at the surface. Mating at depth is reviewed project by project — tell us your conditions.

From 2 to 16 signal contacts, 15 A power contacts, and a single-contact 250 A power version (SHX34).

GDM combines power contacts with four single-mode or multimode optical fibers.
