SHX10 is a triple-start threaded watertight connector for oil, gas and marine equipment. Its receptacles are glass-sealed for gas and water tightness. Mated, it withstands 10 MPa hydrostatic pressure; the receptacle alone withstands 5 MPa. It uses 38999-type insert arrangements with contacts up to size 8 (46 A).

Frequently asked questions

Why is the SHX10 receptacle glass-sealed?

The glass-sealed receptacle is gas-tight as well as watertight, so gas and fluid cannot pass through the connector even when unmated. The receptacle alone withstands 5 MPa; mated, the connector withstands 10 MPa.
