Marine and Shipboard Connectors
Watertight and corrosion-resistant circular connectors for shipboard, deck and offshore equipment.
Shipboard equipment faces salt spray, rain, wash-down and short immersion rather than deep water. Our marine connectors combine corrosion-resistant shells — stainless steel, aluminum bronze, nickel-plated copper alloy — with sealing matched to the location.
SHX15 and SHX16 are watertight to 0.5 MPa when mated; SHX16 keeps 38999-type insert arrangements. YMG is a rain-tight bayonet connector with hyperboloid sockets; XCA is a bayonet connector with hyperboloid sockets, 1 to 62 contacts and glass-sealed receptacles, tested for 240 h acid salt spray. For standard 38999-type interfaces, the J599 Series III and GJB 599 Series I and II marine-environment versions use stainless-steel or titanium shells. How to choose
Sealing level
Rain-tight (YMG) for decks and enclosures; watertight to 0.5 MPa mated (SHX15, SHX16) for splash zones and short immersion; subsea connectors for deep water.
Shell material
Stainless steel or aluminum bronze for the highest salt-spray resistance (500–1000 h); nickel-plated aluminum where weight matters.
Coupling
Threaded (SHX15, SHX16, 38999 types) for vibration and sealing; bayonet (YMG, XCA) for quick mating.
Cable sealing
Watertight mechanical backshells with 360° shielding, potted backshells and sealing caps for unmated connectors.

What is the difference between marine and subsea connectors?
Marine connectors are for shipboard and offshore equipment — salt spray, rain and short immersion (SHX15/16 are watertight to 0.5 MPa mated). Subsea connectors such as SHX33/34/35 are rated for deep water, up to 7000 m.
