XCA Marine Bayonet Connectors with Hyperboloid Contacts

Bayonet · hyperboloid sockets · 1–62 contacts · 240 h acid salt spray

XCA is a bayonet circular connector for marine equipment. Hyperboloid wire-spring sockets give smooth mating and low contact resistance; 32 standard layouts in nine shell sizes carry 1 to 62 contacts from 5 A to 40 A. Plugs, square- and round-flange receptacles, potted through-bulkhead receptacles and glass-sealed receptacles are available in aluminum or stainless steel.

Frequently asked questions

What is a hyperboloid socket?

The socket is a cage of straight wires set at an angle so they form a hyperboloid. The pin is gripped along many lines of contact, giving low, stable resistance, low insertion force and good resistance to vibration.

Which receptacle should I use on a sealed enclosure?

Use the glass-sealed receptacle for the lowest leak rate (≤ 0.1 Pa·cm³/s), or a potted through-bulkhead receptacle when you need plugs on both sides of the wall.
