J599/24 Jam-Nut Receptacles, D38999/24-Type
The J599/24 mounts through a single round panel hole and is clamped by a jam nut, for panels where a flange and screw pattern do not fit.
- Mounting
- Jam nut, single-hole
- Operating temperature
- −65 to +200 °C (260 °C with MT class)
- Salt spray
- 48 to 2000 h, by finish
- EMI shielding
- Up to ≥ 65 dB at 10 GHz, ≥ 85 dB at 1 GHz, by finish
J599/24 is the jam-nut receptacle in our J599 Series III range, built to GJB 599B Series III. It passes through one round hole in the panel and is clamped from the rear by a nut, so the panel needs no separate fixing holes. It mates with the J599/26 plug through the same triple-start threaded coupling as the flange receptacle.
The jam-nut receptacle uses the same crimp contacts, insert arrangements and finish codes as the J599/20. That lets you change mounting style without changing the contact layout or the mating plug. With C contacts, the jam-nut shell is also the base of the J599/24…C hermetic feed-through receptacle.
When to choose this style
- Panel space is tight, or a round hole is simpler to machine than a flange cut-out with fixing holes.
- The receptacle goes into a curved, thin or enclosed wall that you can reach from the rear to tighten the nut.
- You want a through-panel receptacle without exposed flange screws on the front face.
- The receptacle sits near a hot zone: the MT class (stainless steel only) runs to 260 °C.
- The panel is exposed to fuel or oil: add fluorosilicone seals (V); V is not available with MT.

Finish S: shell-to-shell conductivity 1 mΩ, ≥ 65 dB at 10 GHz and ≥ 85 dB at 1 GHz, −65 to +200 °C, 48 h salt spray. For long salt-spray exposure on the same panel, composite M (2000 h) or J (2000 h) is the alternative.
High-temperature variant: insert MT in the class position with a stainless-steel finish (K or S). Fluorosilicone seals: suffix V (not with MT).

Frequently asked questions
Do you make D38999/24 receptacles?
We make the J599/24, a D38999/24-Type jam-nut receptacle built to GJB 599B Series III. Send us your D38999 part number; we will propose the matching configuration and samples for your own mating test.
Jam nut or square flange: which should I use?
Use the jam-nut J599/24 when you want a single round panel hole and can reach the rear of the panel. Use the square-flange J599/20 when you want the receptacle screwed to the front of the panel. Both take the same J599/26 plug and the same insert arrangements.
Can the jam-nut receptacle run at high temperature?
Yes. The standard range is −65 to +200 °C (−65 to +175 °C for cadmium and T finishes). The MT class, in stainless steel only, runs to 260 °C.
How do I seal a jam-nut receptacle that must hold pressure?
Use the hermetic jam-nut receptacle J599/23, with solder-sealed pin contacts and a leak rate ≤ 1 × 10⁻⁸ Pa·m³/s at 0.1 MPa pressure differential.
What are the MOQ and lead times?
The minimum order quantity is 10 pcs. Samples take 4–8 weeks, and production orders take 4–8 weeks.
