J599/26 is the plug in our J599 Series III range, built to GJB 599B Series III, the Chinese counterpart of MIL-DTL-38999 Series III. The coupling nut has a triple-start thread with an anti-decoupling device, so the plug locks under vibration and needs no lock wire to stay mated. The plug is scoop-proof and keyed, with a normal key position N and alternate positions A to E.

Contacts are crimp, removable, from size 26 (2 A) to size 10 (33 A), with coax, shielded and twinax contacts in selected layouts. For composite shells, H (pin) and J (socket) contacts raise durability from 500 to 1500 mating cycles. The -U suffix gives the reverse-side plug used on the rear face of hermetic feed-through receptacles.

When to choose this style

  • You need the cable-side half of a J599/20, /24 or hermetic receptacle, or of a J599/20-D17 / -E17 double-flange PCB receptacle.
  • Your cable sees vibration or shock and you want a threaded, self-locking coupling rather than bayonet.
  • You mate the plug often: choose a composite shell with H/J contacts for 1500 cycles.
  • You run a cable through a sealed bulkhead: use a standard plug on the front and a -U reverse-side plug on the rear of a J599/20…C or /24…C feed-through receptacle.
  • You need fuel or oil resistance (V, fluorosilicone seals) or thermocouple contacts (R(X), NiCr–NiSi pairs).

Reverse-side version for the rear of a feed-through receptacle: J599/26FB35SN-U (aluminum, nickel; shell 11; layout 11-35, 13 × size 22D; socket contacts; key N; -U reverse-side plug).

A plug mates with a receptacle of the same shell size, layout and key position and the opposite contact gender. Use a different key position for each connector of the same size and layout on one panel.

Frequently asked questions

Is the J599/26 the same as a D38999/26 plug?

J599/26 is a D38999/26-Type plug built to GJB 599B Series III, the Chinese counterpart of MIL-DTL-38999 Series III, with shell sizes 9–25. Send us your D38999 part number; we will propose the matching configuration and samples for your own mating test.

What is the -U plug?

The -U suffix marks the reverse-side plug. It mates with the rear face of a J599/20…C or J599/24…C hermetic feed-through receptacle, while a standard plug mates with the front face.

How do I get 1500 mating cycles?

Order a composite shell (finish M or J) with H (pin) or J (socket) contacts. Standard P/S crimp contacts are rated 500 cycles.

Which backshell and cap fit the plug?

J1784 backshells thread onto the plug in unshielded, cable-clamp and shielded versions, straight or 90°. The plug cap is J599/32 plus finish, shell size and lanyard code, for example J599/32F09R. Caps and backshells are ordered separately.

What are the MOQ and lead times?

The minimum order quantity is 10 pcs. Samples take 4–8 weeks, and production orders take 4–8 weeks.
