FBZ is an increased-safety (Ex e) circular connector for areas with explosive gas and where dust and water protection is also needed; it is widely used for signal lines in oil drilling. Explosion protection comes from insulator material and designed creepage and clearance distances. FBZ is sealed to IP68 and holds an Ex component certificate to GB 3836 (Ex ec IIC T4 Gc).

What is the difference between FBG and FBZ?
FBG is flameproof (Ex d, T6): it contains an internal explosion. FBZ is increased safety (Ex e, T4): it prevents sparks through insulation design, and is sealed to IP68.
